Admissions

Please be aware that there may be changes to some of this information as a result of Government guidance relating to Covid-19.

We are extemely proud of Somerford Primary School and really hope that you will consider choosing our school for your children.

APPLYING FOR A PLACE IN RECEPTION

We hope to be able to offer a place for children in the autumn term after their fourth birthday.  All admissions to Somerford Primary are managed by applying to BCP Council.  This is most easily done by visiting:

https://www.christchurch.gov.uk/education-and-training/schools-and-learning/apply-for-a-school-place/before-you-apply.aspx

On this site you are able to find out if you live in our catchment area, make an application for a place and appeal if you have been turned down for a place.  You will also find all policies and procedures relating to admissions and contact details for the admissions team.

Once you have been offered a place we will be in contact to explain the variety of events which take place in the summer term before your child begins with us.

APPLYING FOR A PLACE IN OTHER YEAR GROUPS

We have limited spaces in some of our year groups and would welcome enquires about places with us.  Again the allocation of places in is managed by BCP council at the address below.

https://www.christchurch.gov.uk/education-and-training/schools-and-learning/apply-for-a-school-place/before-you-apply.aspx

Once you have been allocated a place, you will need to bring your child’s full birth certificate to school so that we can take a copy for our records.  You will also need to complete a school admission form.

COME AND VISIT US

We welcome visits from prospective parents and pupils and are sure you will enjoy seeing the fabulous facilities we have to offer and the hard work and learning taking place.

Please don’t hesitate to contact Mrs June Hill on (01202) 485436 if you would like any further details on our admission process.
